FUN STUFF
Challenge
This year's presidents's challenge is called "Save Your Receipts." Sew fabric scraps to cash register receipts to make colorful and interesting strips, then sew them into blocks. It's lots of fun and always interesting to see how different quilts can be when everyone is given the same instructions. Here are some examples:
Past president Sharon Sentena is challenging the guild to participate in the Sensational Selfie Challenge. The pattern is available for free at tildasworld.com. The idea is to personalize the pattern. Change up the girl's hair, dress, face, and make her YOU. Use the chicken block or change it to something you love -- shoes, a pet, flowers, food, chocolate, even a mini-quilt! Challenge reveal is set for September. |
Field Trips
Would you like to meet other guild members? Would you like to visit quilt shops but would rather not go on your own or are reluctant to drive by yourself? Well, we plan several day trips each year that you are sure to enjoy. You know it's always more fun to be out and about with a fellow quilter than on your own or with a disinterested significant other! Watch the newsletter for details.
