January: Double Pinwheel (word document)
January: Double Pinwheel (.pdf file)

Helpful suggestion from Chris Smith for January block:
I tried this block last night and had trouble with the trapezoidal blocks. It works better if you make them 1/4 inch longer than the instructions and then trim them back along the line of the triangles. A very interesting block. I don't think I have ever used trapezoids before.

March: US Ribbon (.pdf file)

Helpful suggestion from Chris Smith for March block:
I just completed one of the ribbon blocks from this month's mystery quilt, and although it all worked, it would have been easier if I had made each strip of fabric for the paper piecing 1/4 inch longer and wider. Doesn't sound like much of a difference and you just end up cutting it off, but it would have been a little easier to catch all the ends. I would also recommend doing it all in one color. The 3 color ribbons have taken 8-9 hours so far (probably just one more hour to go to put the 4 pieced sections together), but I like the way it looks.

April: Land of Liberty (.pdf file)

Note from Meredith
OK ladies, so here it is I did my typical space case.
So there are 2 different blocks for this month. You will only need 4 of the Land of Liberty blocks. I am giving you the pattern for the Spiderweb Star which is the alternate block. (Please read through this pattern before doing any cutting.) I just want you to not make any of the mistakes that I made.
If you want to you can cut fabric rectangles and bring them with you to the morning meeting and (I PROMISE) I will be there to help with the layout of your templates.

ERRATA: When squaring up your border: the Measurement:
I goofed and fat fingered the measurement. It is supposed to be 2.75 inches from center. I'm sorry about that. Meredith
